Explorer Preschool Classrooms
We use a September 1st birthday as the deadline for our youngest students–i.e., students must turn 2 by September 1st to enroll in our Panda class.
2 year olds: Panda class - 12 students
3 year olds: Little Lions class - 15 students
4 year olds: Super Heroes class - 16 students
Older 4 year-olds and 5 year-olds: High Fives class - 16 students
Our Preschool has low teacher to student ratios, with two teachers in all of our classrooms. This averages out to 1 teacher to 6 children in our youngest group and 1 teacher to 8 children in our other classes. We also have a 'High Fives' class for students who miss the deadline for kindergarten or for those families who choose to wait to enroll their child in kindergarten. This class moves at a quicker pace academically, resembling a kindergarten program.
Our curriculum is designed to help our students transition easily between preschool and kindergarten. It consists of circle time, crafts, small group activities, fine and gross motor skills development, music time, science, and free play.
OUR TEACHERS:
It might be reassuring to know that the qualities you value in a person to look after your child are the same qualities that we value too. Warmth, sensitivity, knowledge, and understanding are the characteristics we look for and value in our teachers at Explorer Preschool. Our teachers LOVE to come to work. They love interacting with the children and helping them to grow and learn new concepts. Currently we have 9 teachers on our staff. Together, our current teachers have over 60 years of teaching experience just at Explorer Preschool!
We are always looking for substitute teachers to fill in when one of our teachers is out. If you're interested in substitute teaching with us, please email us.
