We welcome all people into the life of the church and follow the path and teachings of Jesus as a way to experience the sacredness of life. An open table for all

​At Christ UMC we believe that Jesus spread his table wide for all who wanted to sit with him. As followers of Christ, we  try to live out Jesus' example by spreading our table wide and attempting to be as welcoming as possible to all God's children.  Although we are aware that this is an ongoing process in our journey of faith as a congregation, we hope that all people will find us a welcoming church, regardless of age, race, gender, sexual orientation, or religious beliefs.

Outreach

CUMC helped to establish and continues to support the Crossroads Urban Center, a ministry to low income, disabled, and minority Utah residents living in downtown Salt Lake.  Christ UMC also works closely with Family Promise (formerly the Interfaith Hospitality Network) in Salt Lake and has a section of its building designed to host Family Promise guests on a regular basis.

We are generous with our resources, interested in helping make our community stronger, and dedicated to providing quality programming and ministry to people both inside and outside our doors.

Youth ministry

Youth Ministry is extremely important to CUMC. The Junior High and Senior High youth group meets on a regular basis. We take a yearly mission trip with the youth as well as local service projects throughout the year.  

An outstanding ministry and tradition of the church for almost six decades is the Wesley Bell Ringers, a renowned high school hand bell choir. Through the years, The Wesley Bell Ringers have traveled to every state in the nation during their 15 day Summer Bell Tour. The 2020 Bell Tour will visit the Pacific Northwest.
